Fashion for Paws

On April 10, 2010 the 4th annual Fashion for Paws ( F4P) Runway show took place at the Embassy of Italy raising more than $373,000 for the Washington Humane Society. The proceeds go to keeping homeless animals off the streets, and to providing a home to more than 30,000 animals a year.

F4P incorporated fashion in the nation's capital drawing VIPs, Diplomats, and animal lover alike. The Runway Show included 60 notable personalitites as models and philanthropists for the cause. I was thrilled to be apart of this great event. All the fundraising events and parties on F4P's behalf over these last few months was so worth it to make sure these little puppies to have a home and a bright future. I dedicated my campaing to my pets/best friends Sam, Larry,Curley, and Lucy.

Check out all the wonderful media clips and photos from the F4P Runway Show!

Miss DC USA

Check out bisnow's coverage of the Miss DC USA Pageant on Nov. 29 at the JW Marriott. This was a wonderful opportunity for many young women in DC, and I am proud to say I couldn't be more happy to have placed in the top 10!

10 D.C. Socialites

Check out this great article by Kiki Ryan from Politico. I am very honored to be among so many wonderful women.

Courtney Caldwell

This 24-year-old Tennessee native decided to live in Washington after interning for Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.) one summer. And though she’s a been here for less than a year, the Georgetown social circuit already wants to know: Is “CC” the new “KK”?

She’s certainly found a path to prominence. She has reported on the social beat for the e-newsletter Bisnow. But she doesn’t just write about charity events. She participates in them, too: She’s walked the runway for Fashion Fights Poverty and Couture for a Cure. “I may not be able to give thousands of dollars, but I can model for them,” says Caldwell, who wants to pursue a career in modeling.

Though she doesn't blog, she has become a popular name on the website LateNightShots. Most recently, commenters weighed in on her Top 10 finish at November's Miss D.C. USA pageant.

Caldwell can be spotted Thursday nights at Cafe Milano for her “weekly dinner with eight friends” and at George, a grown-up version of the fraternity-like Smith Point bar up the street.

Noche Musical Gala

Last week, I attended the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts, Noche Musical Gala held at the Corcoran Gallery. This was a great and meaningful night for so may in which many stars came out to show their support. Among them was supreme court justice Sonia Sotomayor, foundation co-founders and actors Jimmy Smits, and Esai Morales; all activists for this wonderful cause.

Blackfinn

Wednesday night we went down to the VIP opening of the new fabulous restaurant Blackfinn on 16th st NW. This place was awesome- it had huge, mega-flat screens positioned at every angel in the bar/restaurant. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was laid back. You could enjoy a nice relaxed meal here with friends or watch any sports event with a crowd- it was the perfect hybrid of class and comfort. We'll definitely be back.
